Are you in the mood for good old home cooking? Then look no further Dish is your spot! Our waitress Ellen was phenomenal kept our drinks topped off and had great recommendations! I had the seafood gumbo and the shrimp and grits everything tasted great. Nice upbeat atmosphere decor was eclectic with plates of all different styles on the wall. Overall fun experience and great food be sure to pass through here next time you are in the Plaza Midwood area!

Always great comfort food at Dish! I’ve been going there since they opened up many years back. The place hasn’t changed much since it opened, and why mess with what works! The food reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking. I have three favorites that I rotate through, their meatloaf is my favorite, their pot roast is awesome, and their chicken and dumplings are the best I’ve had in Charlotte. I’ve tried several other of their meals and have not run across one I didn’t like! Whatever you order it’s going to come with a fresh-baked biscuit and their signature deviled egg!

Hands down the BEST restaurant around the Plaza Midwood area! Their service and food were spot on. I had their chicken thigh special and it was one of the best chicken thighs I have ever had. Super juicy, well-seasoned and moist in texture. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout the evening.

Tasty vegan & vegetarian southern food. Missing your great aunt’s deviled eggs? Well, don’t mess up your kitchen, head over to Dish to satisfy that craving. Add in a yummy cocktail, too to round out your experience. I think the vegan coleslaw is some of the best I’ve ever had.

Saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and finally got a chance to try it today. Weather was rainy and cold for a spring day and the food and environment was the perfect solution for it. Felt like stepping into a family members house for a Sunday dinner. Excellent food, good portion sizes, and super reasonable prices. Will definitely be going back soon.

Dish still remains a well-kept secret in the Queen City, and that’s just the way we like it. If you ever crave your mom’s cooking, but a much better version, then look no further. Friendly, warm, caring staff, and food that just defines the word comfort. And for goodness sake, get the damn key lime pie, and thank me tomorrow!

Does your mom live thousands of miles away? Well lucky for you there’s Dish! Excellent meat’ n’ 3 home cooking, local area favorites as specials, & homemade desserts. Oh each entree comes with a deviled egg!

Amazing quality of food with very reasonable price. Me and my friends ordered Meatloaf, Pot Roast, and Country Fried Steak. All of those were delicious and I highly recommend them. Our server was very helpful and warm as well.

5 stars for being the perfect neighborhood restaurant for comfort food. They have cheap prices and just delicious food, including veg and, I think, vegan options. The drinks are pretty good too! Dish feels like one of those diners that’s been around forever, hasn’t changed a thing the whole time, with the best home style cooking.

Great place for lunch!  Nice cozy feeling inside, friendly servers and good food!  I had the country fried steak which was perfect, and the biscuits are as good as everyone says. When I saw they had key lime pie on the dessert menu, that sealed the deal. I had it of course, and it was delicious!
Dish has a nice home style atmosphere, with just enough of a funky vibe to set it apart. I’ll be back.

Dish! Don’t forget about this little gem tucked away off of Central Avenue in Plaza Midwood. I always explain it as having a good southern style menu that is vegetarian and gluten free friendly. I’m mean come on they include deviled eggs with many of their dishes.

I love this little gem of Plaza Midwood. I had an early dinner date. They recently improved the bar menu and they have wonderful cocktails. I had the Texas Mule and they have an interesting Rye Manhattan on the menu.
I had the Southwest Cobb salad, but I pass on the dressing. It was awesome, it even has real pieces of bacon in it and it didn’t mention it on the menu, but still a wonderful plus.

I ordered the Mahi that was baked with fresh pineapple salsa on top.
My Seafood Soup was cream based and chocked full of seafood and potatoes and it was served hot.
I also had their house salad which always has more than just lettuce as it should. My wife had the portobello mushroom and spinach quesadilla which she loved. We go here at least one each month. I could handle once a week if my schedule permitted. Their desserts are always fresh and delicious.

Good food. Good service. Love comfort food done right. Save room for the sweet potato pie at the end. It is worth it.
